The effects of climate change are massively driving energy transition efforts worldwide, accompanied by a switch to electrical energy supply. The rapid transition from combustion engines to electric mobility which is taking place, China in particular, is an impressive evidence of this change. Consequently, electric drive development is becoming more and more important, while their optimization in all performance areas is an integral part of current advances in this field. Further challenges include the sustainable use of resources, which means that extending the lifespan of products and components is becoming increasingly important.

Over and above these requirements is the demand for cost reductions, especially in the automotive sector, in order to persevere in the ever-increasing competitive pressure.

Based on these necessities and demands, Ecomotor has created a brand-new benchmark in this technology.

In close cooperation with an innovative high tech company in Germany, a leader in this field for more than 60 years, Ecomotor has developed the R370 Long-Life (R370LL) motor.

The basic R370 is a very popular motor which is used in large numbers worldwide and in a wide range of applications (including automotive) and already has a high level of quality as a standard. The service life of this motor, however, in its regular version is just below 900 hours and approx. 200,000 cycles of rotation-direction-changes. After an extensive study and testing phase, the resulting improvement-adaptations were implemented and evaluated. The results of extensive testing and verification, which commenced in 2022, is that these motor modifications have already exceeded a service life of more than 10,000 hours, as well as more than 2.3 million cycles under load and normal conditions.

Additionally, the Long-Life adaptations bring with them a reduction in the acoustic noise level to below 30dB.

The reduced noise levels and the extremely long service life make the R370LL a very cost-effective replacement for significantly more expensive motors in this performance class.

Ecomotor is able to produce the R370LL in small and medium quantity series, as well as in volumes of several million pieces per year. Integration of the increased lifetime and reduced acoustic noise adaptations is uncomplicated and readily achievable.
